BTS leader Kim Nam-joon has addressed ongoing speculation about the group performing at the Super Bowl halftime show, sharing that while no official invitation has been received, the group remains open to the opportunity in the future.
RM on Super Bowl Rumours
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, RM spoke about the possibility of BTS headlining one of the world’s biggest live entertainment stages. He noted that the group would be interested if the timing aligns and circumstances evolve.
RM highlighted the growing global appreciation for Korean culture, referencing the success of works like Parasite. He suggested that shifting global perspectives could eventually create space for a K-pop act to headline the prestigious event.
Jungkook’s Missed Opportunity
RM also revealed that Jeon Jungkook had previously been invited by Usher to join a Super Bowl halftime performance. However, the collaboration did not materialise due to military service commitments.
This insight has further strengthened discussions around BTS’s expanding global reach and their potential future presence at major Western events.
BTS Continues Chart Dominance with ARIRANG
The conversation comes at a time when BTS is enjoying a strong global comeback. Their latest album, ARIRANG, continues to perform exceptionally well on the Billboard 200.
The album recently secured the No. 1 position for a second consecutive week, earning 187,000 equivalent album units in the United States, according to Luminate data.
This achievement marks a new milestone for BTS, making ARIRANG their longest-running No. 1 album on the chart. It also reinforces their status as one of the most influential global music acts today.
A Growing Global Influence
From record-breaking albums to potential appearances at global events like the Super Bowl, BTS continues to shape the international music landscape. While a halftime show performance has not been confirmed, the group’s openness signals exciting possibilities for the future.
