Bhubaneswar: A hotel owner was seriously injured in a murderous attack carried out by a gang of thieves on Wednesday.
According to reports, the victim has been identified as Sajal Samal who runs an OYO hotel in the Kalinga Vihar area under Bharatpur police station limits.
Sources said, Samal sustained severe injuries on his head and neck in the attack. After receiving information, Bharatpur police station reached the spot and admitted the injured Sajal to a local private hospital.
As per sources, the hotel in Kalinga Vihar was almost vacant since Tuesday during Dussehra. Taking advantage, some miscreants broke into the hotel to steal. However, their movement was caught on CCTV and Sajal along with other staff managed to apprehend the thieves and handed them over to Bharatpur police by calling the PCR.
After being released from the police station on Wednesday, the accused persons attacked him, the critically injured hotel owner, Sajal said in his response.
