The T20 World Cup 2026 points table witnessed a dramatic shift after Match 33. Australia, once considered tournament favourites, have been eliminated from Group B even before their final group game.

Zimbabwe secured a historic Super 8 berth alongside co-hosts Sri Lanka, sparking celebrations across Harare.

Australia’s exit came after their loss to Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe’s crucial point from a washout against Ireland. This combination pushed the Chevrons beyond Australia’s reach.

In Group A, India remains dominant at the top with three wins from three matches. The USA and Pakistan are locked in a tight race for the second spot. If Pakistan falter against Namibia in Match 35, the USA could secure a historic Super 8 debut.

Group C saw West Indies and England advance, while Scotland bowed out. Group D confirmed South Africa’s flawless run, making them the only unbeaten side in the tournament. New Zealand followed them into the Super 8, ending Afghanistan’s hopes of another semi-final run.

The tournament now heads into the Super 8 stage, promising high-octane clashes among cricket’s elite. The final is scheduled for March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where India aim to defend their crown.
