Senior Congress leader Sura Routray has indicated that he may contest again from Jatani in the upcoming elections.
Speaking to supporters, Routray said he would fight if people wanted him to, adding that Congress could return to Jatani.
Routray admitted that his absence in the last election contributed to the party’s defeat in the constituency. He expressed confidence that Congress would regain ground, stressing that he was actively engaging with people and participating in local programs.
He highlighted the party’s organisational strength and financial resources, asserting that these factors would help secure victory. “We have the organisation, we have the funds, and we will win,” Routray said.
Routray’s statement has sparked political discussions in Odisha, as his return could energise Congress workers in Jatani. His remarks suggest a renewed push to reclaim the seat and strengthen the party’s presence in the region.
