The interrogation of five accused in the Sudhir murder case in Berhampur has concluded after a three-day police remand. Officials confirmed that the accused will be sent back to judicial custody, while further questioning may take place if required.
Police stated that the suspects, who were on remand since April 25, were subjected to detailed and sustained questioning during the investigation.
Conflicting Statements Complicate Probe

Earlier, the accused had claimed that Sudhir’s death was accidental and occurred during an assault, denying any intention to commit murder.

An audio recording of the alleged call has also surfaced, in which the accused reportedly claimed they received ₹50 lakh to carry out the murder. This new evidence has added a crucial dimension to the ongoing investigation.

Following these revelations, police have begun examining the fresh claims and the authenticity of the audio recording. Officials indicated that the accused could be brought back on remand if further verification or questioning is needed.
