Patna: A controversial circular was issued by Bihar police saying that no government jobs will be given to the people for staging violent protests or blocking roads.
This circular has drawn fierce reaction from the opposition which termed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of acting like dictators Hitler and Mussolini.
In its circular, the police said that those found staging protests, sitting on a dharna or blocking roads will not get government jobs or any kind of government contract.
The directive issued by Bihar DGP SK Singhal said if anyone takes part in a protest that could turn violent, then their conduct certificates will bear strictures that will tantamount to adverse comment on one’s character.
The circular said a police verification is necessary for applying for a state-owned liquor outlet, a government jobs, a license for a firearm and a passport. Those indulging in violent protests should be prepared for stern consequences as they won’t be able to get government jobs.
RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav said the new circular is anti-people and added that the Bihar CM is giving a tough competition to Mussolini and Hitler.
