Actor Sonal Chauhan has revealed that she is stranded in Dubai amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran.

With flight operations disrupted across the Gulf region, the actor took to social media to seek assistance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government to ensure her safe return home.

‘No Clear Way to Return’

Sharing a note on Instagram Stories, Sonal appealed directly to the Prime Minister and concerned authorities.

“Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji I am currently stranded in Dubai amid the ongoing crisis. Flights have been cancelled and no clear way to return to India. I’m seeking the government’s guidance and support to help me get back home safely.”

She also tagged the Ministry of External Affairs and the Consulate General of India, Dubai, requesting official guidance and assistance.

Other Indian Personalities Affected

Star Indian badminton player PV Sindhu is also reportedly stranded at Dubai airport. Sindhu was travelling to Birmingham for the All England Open Badminton Championships, with Dubai serving as a transit halt, when airport operations were suspended.

The widespread disruption has left thousands of passengers in limbo as airlines reassess flight routes amid airspace closures.

Escalation Across the Gulf Region

The conflict intensified after joint US–Israel strikes on Iranian targets triggered retaliatory missile launches across the region. Several major Middle Eastern hubs — including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh, Manama, and Amman — reported explosions or aerial interceptions.

In Dubai, loud blasts were heard across parts of the city. Videos circulating online showed fire and smoke near Fairmont The Palm on Palm Jumeirah. Authorities stated that debris from intercepted projectiles caused fires at select locations.

A separate incident reportedly led to injuries at Dubai International Airport, which also sustained partial damage to one of its terminal structures.

Travel Disruptions Continue

Airspace closures across West Asia have resulted in widespread flight cancellations, rerouting of aircraft, and temporary suspension of airport operations in several cities. Governments, including India, have issued advisories urging citizens in affected regions to remain cautious and follow official guidance.

As diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions continue, travellers like Sonal Chauhan and PV Sindhu await clarity on evacuation options and the resumption of commercial flights.
