The Odisha government has revised the maximum monthly hiring charges for private vehicles deployed in various government offices, marking the first such update since 2019.

The revised rates, effective May 27, 2025, were officially notified by the Finance Department on Tuesday.

Key Revisions Across Categories:

  • Apex Scale Officers & Ministers:

    • New rate: ₹50,400 (up from ₹42,000)

  • Collectors & SPs:

    • New rate: ₹44,400 (up from ₹37,000)

  • Blocks, Tahasils, and Other Field Offices:

    • New rate: ₹37,200 (up from ₹31,000)

Institutional Transport (Educational/Training Institutes):

  • 15-seater buses: ₹58,500

  • 25-seater buses: ₹71,500

  • 32-seater buses: ₹90,000

These rates aim to reflect current market conditions and ensure that educational and training institutions can continue uninterrupted services with suitable transport options.

Special Vehicle Categories:

  • TATA Ace (LGV): ₹33,500

  • Mahindra/Bolero/Tata Pickups: ₹42,000

The Finance Department has also introduced minimum mileage requirements, ranging from 6 to 17 km per litre, depending on the vehicle category. This move is likely aimed at ensuring fuel efficiency and budgetary prudence.
