In Bijapur, six Maoists were killed in an encounter with joint teams from the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), Commando Battalions for Resolute Action (CoBRA), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Bhopalpatanam-Farsegarh forest area of Chhattisgarh.
Among those killed was DVCM Dilip Bendja, the in-charge of the National Park Area Committee, who had an ₹8 lakh reward on his head. Four of the deceased were women.
The security forces recovered six automatic weapons, explosives, and Maoist materials from the scene. The operation was based on intelligence inputs and involved intermittent gunfire over two days. Police have stated that anti-Naxal operations continue with strong support from the local community.
