Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans for the overwhelming support his son, Aryan Khan, received for his directorial debut, The Bads of Bollywood.
The series, which premiered on Netflix on September 18, has been widely appreciated for its satirical take on the film industry.
Heartfelt Appreciation from the Superstar
Responding to a fan club post that showcased pictures of fans celebrating Aryan’s debut, Shah Rukh Khan wrote on social media, “Thank you team for the love and cheers. Hope you guys finished watching the show… at least a few times. Ha ha.” His message reflected pride and happiness for Aryan’s work, marking a supportive gesture from the iconic actor.
Shah Rukh Reflects on Aryan’s Creative Vision
Speaking at the premiere, Shah Rukh recalled his initial reaction to Aryan’s announcement about making the series. “When Aryan told me he was going to make a show on Bollywood, that it would be raw, edgy, and would have some madness to it, I thought, ‘Is he going to share the CCTV footage of Mannat on YouTube?’” He added that once he understood the tone of the show, he was completely drawn in and immensely proud of his son’s efforts.
About The Bads of Bollywood
Produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, The Bads of Bollywood is written and directed by Aryan Khan, in collaboration with co-creators Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan. The series follows the story of Aasmaan Singh, played by Lakshya, an aspiring actor who comes to Mumbai chasing big dreams. The cast also includes Sahher Bambba, Mona Singh, Raghav Juyal, Bobby Deol, Anya Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Vijayant Kohli, Gautami Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, and Rajat Bedi.
Critics have praised the series for its satirical portrayal of the Bollywood industry. Moneycontrol’s review stated, “At its core, The Bads of Bollywood is a satire dressed as a spoof, throwing playful punches at everything Bollywood stands for. The caricatured characters, industry in-jokes, and irreverent tone reveal Aryan Khan’s unapologetic commercial sensibilities.”
Praise from Aryan’s Co-Stars
Ishaan Khatter, who stars in the series, expressed his excitement on Instagram, calling it “the film I’ve been proudest of” and hailed Aryan’s vision. He also acknowledged filmmaker Martin Scorsese, the executive producer, for bringing the project to life. Co-stars Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa also shared their happiness over the series’ release and reception on social media.
The Bads of Bollywood is now available for streaming on Netflix, marking a strong and confident start for Aryan Khan as a director in the digital entertainment space.
