Senior IPS officer Swathy S. Kumar, currently serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Special Task Force (STF) in Odisha, has been approved for central deputation. She will join the Intelligence Bureau (IB) as Joint Deputy Director.
Odisha Police Director General of Police (DGP) has granted the necessary permission for her central deputation. Swathy S. Kumar, a 2017-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre, assumed charge as STF SP on May 24 following a major reshuffle in the state police cadre by the Home Department.
Known for her dynamic leadership and contributions in district policing roles, including stints as SP of Rayagada and Gajapati districts, Kumar’s move to the central agency marks a significant career progression. Her expertise in field operations and intelligence-related matters is expected to strengthen IB’s efforts.
