Security forces seized a large cache of Maoist explosives and materials during a search operation in the border forests spanning Odisha’s Malkangiri district and Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.
On December 30, security personnel launched a coordinated operation in the dense forests of Karipu near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border. The teams discovered large quantities of Maoist explosives, including a tiffin bomb and other materials hidden inside the jungle. Maoists had concealed the explosives to inflict damage on security forces.
Personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) carried out the search operation. They recovered the tiffin bomb and immediately neutralised it, preventing a possible large-scale Maoist attack. The seizure included several explosive devices and Maoist materials intended for use in ambushes against security patrols.
The successful recovery marked a significant breakthrough in the ongoing anti-Maoist campaign. Security forces not only foiled a major attack plan but also strengthened their control in the sensitive border region. The operation demonstrated the vigilance and preparedness of the forces in countering Maoist threats.
Officials confirmed that the search operation continues in the forest areas to uncover more hidden explosives and Maoist supplies. The forces remain determined to dismantle Maoist networks and ensure safety for local residents.
The Maoist explosives seizure highlights the persistent threat in the border districts and the proactive measures taken by security forces to safeguard the region.
