The second National Lok Adalat of the year will be held on May 9 across all judicial courts in Khordha district.
Salomi Sahu, Secretary of Khordha District Legal Services Authority, Bhubaneswar, confirmed the schedule. The Lok Adalat will take up a wide range of pending cases, including compoundable criminal matters, plea bargaining, cheque bounce disputes, loan recovery, accident claims, traffic challans, labour disputes, public utility cases, electricity and water disputes, matrimonial and family issues (excluding divorce), land acquisition, employment and pension cases, revenue matters, IPR disputes, and other civil and criminal cases.
Citizens can also approach the District Legal Services Authority or Taluk Legal Services Committees for pre-litigation disputes. These include loan defaults, succession cases, traffic challans through virtual courts, labour and employment issues, electricity and water disputes, revenue and land acquisition matters, public utility disputes, matrimonial mediation, domestic violence cases, commercial disputes, arbitration, tenancy conflicts, and property-related disputes.
