A shocking incident occurred at Kaladi Upper Primary School under Nandapur block when the school’s main gate, along with a cement wall in dilapidated condition, suddenly collapsed, injuring four students.
Parents Neel Khil and Purna Khil said their wards were entering the school premises when the iron gate and wall fell on them. The injured have been identified as Kamesha Khil and Deepak Majhi, both Class III students, while two other children from the Bala Vatika section were also hurt.
Villagers and school authorities rushed to rescue the children and shifted them to the Nandapur Community Health Centre for primary treatment. Doctors later confirmed that all four are stable.
School officials said they have informed the Block Education Officer (BEO) and Block Development Officer (BDO) about the collapse, and further action is expected.
