The state government has sanctioned Rs 110 crore in flood relief to 22 districts, based on preliminary damage assessments.
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari announced that a final consolidated damage report from all departments will be available by Friday evening (5 PM), following a high‑level review meeting convened by the Revenue Department.
According to the minister, the worst‑affected districts are Baleshwar, Bhadrak, and Jajpur, which received Rs 22.03 crore, Rs 20.12 crore, and Rs 20.20 crore respectively. Other allocations include Jagatsinghpur (Rs 8.18 crore), Kendujhar (Rs 6.11 crore), Sambalpur (Rs 5.56 crore), Kendrapada (Rs 5.04 crore), Mayurbhanj (Rs 5.02 crore), Subarnapur (Rs 2.31 crore), Khordha (Rs 2.06 crore), and Boudhagada (Rs 1.29 crore).
Pujari noted that in many districts, floodwaters have not fully receded and river levels remain high. This year, Odisha has recorded 65% above‑normal rainfall, intensifying flood damage across several regions. Detailed reports on embankment repairs and river bund works have also been sought from district administrations.
