Cuttack: The Commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Smt. Ananya Das on Saturday briefed on the COVID-19 situation in the city area.
The CMC Commissioner shed light on the measures taken for treatment of patients, the assistance provided through Rapid Response teams and Ambulance with advanced life support, planning to increase beds in SCB Medical College, Cuttack, vaccination programme, and Lockdown restrictions.
Das said that 24X7 Covid Control Room 7077775555 meant for general queries and an emergency toll-free helpline-1800-3458289 for shifting and critical assistance are operational. She also said that around 88% of Covid patients are in Home isolation till date.
Another 100 beds will be added at the SCB Medical College & Hospital in the coming days. It will have 41 ICU beds and 40 HDUs. Including the SCB, Cuttack now has 1,200 beds and 300 ICUs. “Increased bed availability in the SCB will also benefit patients in other districts,” she said.
The CMC Commissioner said that adequate beds are available at the Covid Care Center. At present, bed occupancy at the Covid Care Center is 40 to 50 percent. Oxygen is available at the Covid Care Centers.
If necessary, the patients are being taken to Covid Hospital. Efforts are being made to increase the capacity of the SCB to address this. The Covid control room has dedicated doctors, nurses, and other medical staff, she added.
