Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) resumed the slum demolition drive for the expansion of SCB medical college and Hospital In Cuttack.
Reportedly, in the first phase, the adjoining roads have been upgraded. Once again CMC is going to begin the demolition work of slums for SCB expansion.
As per reports, this drive will begin from June 2 at the Malgdown Telgu slum. Around 94 houses and 8 shops will be demolished in this drive. The residents of the area will be shifted to Balisahi in Nuapada.
Moreover, cash Rs 50,000 and 228ft will be provided to the residents along with free food for eight days. The Telugu slum residents will be shifted to schools at Satrol on June 1, CMC informed.
Earlier, some tents were got damaged which are established for the Balisahi residents. Following this, they were temporarily shifted to a safe place.
