Prayagraj: The Sangam Railway Station in Prayagraj has been temporarily shut down due to an overwhelming surge of pilgrims visiting the city. Authorities made the decision to ensure crowd control and passenger safety as thousands flocked to the area for religious gatherings.
The influx of devotees is attributed to ongoing religious events at the Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers. With the station unable to accommodate the massive footfall, railway officials have redirected trains to alternative stations in Prayagraj to manage congestion.
Railway authorities have urged travelers to check for updates before planning their journeys. Meanwhile, security personnel and local administration are working to regulate crowds and provide alternative transport arrangements.
