Odisha Vigilance arrested Basudev Bhoi, Senior Revenue Assistant at the office of the Settlement Officer, Major Settlement, Sambalpur, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
He will be forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur, today.
Officials said searches conducted on Bhoi’s properties revealed assets far beyond his known sources of income. Investigators found one multi‑storeyed building in Bargarh town, another building in Sambalpur town, 16 valuable plots, and a four‑wheeler, among other possessions. Bhoi failed to provide satisfactory explanations for these assets.
Following the discovery, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 26/2025 was registered against him. Vigilance officers confirmed that preliminary evidence has been secure,d and further investigation is underway.
