Veteran playback singer S Janaki, fondly remembered as the Nightingale of South India, passed away at the age of 88 in Mysore, leaving behind a legacy that defined generations of Indian cinema and music.
Her honey-sweet voice, which carried emotion across languages and genres, became the soul of countless unforgettable songs. From romantic ballads to devotional hymns, Janaki’s artistry transcended boundaries, making her one of the most celebrated voices in the country.
