Kamakhyanagar: The State Vigilance wing on Saturday conducted searches on the premises of Superintendent Engineer of The Rural Water Supply & Sanitation Division (RWSS), Bhubaneswar. The accused officer has been identified as Bijayananda Sahoo.
The searches are being carried out in connection with a case of acquisition and possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
On the strength of Search Warrants issued by Special Judge Vigilance, Dhenkanal, simultaneous house searches are being conducted at six places including:
- His triple storyed building at Plot No ME -19, Mohan Das Enclave Aiginia Bhubaneswar Dist-Khurda.
- His Office chamber at RWS&S Division, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar, Dist-Khurda.
- His Double Storyed building at Dihadol, PS-Parjanga, Dist-Dhenkanal.
- House of his Father in law at Pangatira, PS-Parjang, Dist-Dhenkanal.
- His triple storyed building at Susuda, PS-Town Dist-Angul.
- Quarter of his son in law located inside Nalco Campus, PS-Nalco Township, Dist.Angul.
5 DSPs, 14 Inspectors and 28 other staff conducted the searches, said sources.
