Rajasthan Royals produced a disciplined bowling display to bundle out Chennai Super Kings for a modest 127 in 19.4 overs in the third match of IPL 2026 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium here on Monday.
Opting to field first after winning the toss, RR’s pacers and spinners combined effectively on a tricky surface. **Ravindra Jadeja**, facing his former franchise, was the standout performer with impressive figures of 2/18, using his variations to choke the CSK batting. Jofra Archer picked up 2/19, while Nandre Burger struck twice in the powerplay, and Sandeep Sharma claimed a wicket. The innings ended dramatically when Jamie Overton was run out for a fighting 43 off 36 balls (2 fours, 2 sixes) following a mix-up with Anshul Kamboj.
CSK’s batting lineup faltered early, losing four wickets in the powerplay and slipping further as Jadeja triggered a collapse. Overton’s late resistance, including a couple of sixes, helped them cross 100, but the total remained well below par. Extras contributed 16 runs (9 lb, 6 w, 1 nb).
The chase of 128 appears straightforward for RR, giving them a strong chance to begin their campaign with a victory. CSK, meanwhile, will need to regroup quickly after this disappointing batting effort.
