The TATA IPL 2026 season came alive with a classic toss twist at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium as Rajasthan Royals’ young star Yashasvi Jaiswal won the coin toss and immediately put Lucknow Super Giants in to bat first.
With regular skipper Riyan Parag sidelined by a hamstring injury, 24-year-old Jaiswal was handed the captaincy reins for the first time in the IPL and wasted no time making his mark.
Speaking at the toss, the explosive opener revealed the Royals’ clear game plan: “The wicket looks really good for batting, but we expect dew to come in later, so we want to chase.”
Lucknow Super Giants, led by Rishabh Pant, will now have the added pressure of setting a total under lights while battling the notorious late-evening dew that often makes second-innings batting a lottery in Jaipur.
The strategic call has set the stage for a high-voltage contest. With both sides boasting explosive batting line-ups, the match promises fireworks once the ball is thrown up.
