The Odisha Revenue Department today held a high-level senior officers’ meeting that placed strong emphasis on accelerating land reforms, delivering faster and more convenient services to citizens, and strengthening revenue collection.
The meeting, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee at Lok Seva Bhawan, reviewed key priorities for the coming months. Officials discussed the roadmap for upcoming land reform programmes, ways to make governance more citizen-centric, steps to speed up budget expenditure on developmental works, and strategies to boost revenue realisation.
Dr. Padhee stressed the need for effective follow-up action in the land reforms sector so that ordinary citizens receive quick and hassle-free services. He also underlined the importance of timely and proper utilisation of budgetary allocations for development projects. Special attention was given to making revenue collection more robust and efficient.
In a highlight of the meeting, Special Secretary S.K. Jamiruddin was honoured as the ‘Performer of the Month’ by ACS Dr. Padhee. The recognition forms part of a monthly tradition in the department aimed at encouraging officers’ commitment to public service and inspiring dedicated performance.
The Revenue Secretary noted that the state government’s recent step to integrate the phonetic characteristics of the Odia language with the English spellings of place names is a significant measure. It not only respects the state’s linguistic heritage and identity but also improves accuracy in administrative records.
Senior officers present at the meeting resolved to continue coordinated efforts to make the administration more efficient, transparent, accountable and people-oriented, while further strengthening the state’s revenue administration.
The monthly recognition of outstanding officers is expected to keep motivation high and reinforce the department’s focus on responsive and effective public service.
