Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Bidyadhar Pati, Tahasildar of Remuna in Balasore district for possessing disproportionate assets.
Based on searches conducted on the properties of Sri Bidyadhar Pati, he was found to be in possession of disproportionate assets. This includes three high-value flats—two valued at approximately Rs. 2.5 crore in Bhubaneswar and one in Balasore—along with two plots of land and nearly 937 grams of gold. Additionally, he has deposits totalling over Rs. 1.12 crore, which he could not satisfactorily explain.
As a result, Pati has been arrested by the Odisha Vigilance and will be presented in court today for possession of disproportionate assets. In connection with this case, Vigilance Cell PS Case No. 01/2025 has been registered against him while he served as Tahasildar in Remuna.
