The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have called off their highly anticipated open bus victory parade due to concerns over traffic congestion in the city.
The IPL 2025 champions, who secured their first-ever title, were set to celebrate with fans on the streets of Bengaluru. However, local authorities and the team management decided to opt for a stadium-based felicitation instead.
Officials cited Bengaluru’s notorious traffic issues as the primary reason behind the cancellation. Instead, fans have been encouraged to gather at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the team will be honoured.
The decision comes after discussions with the Karnataka Chief Minister and local traffic authorities, who expressed concerns about potential roadblocks affecting daily commuters. To ensure smooth celebrations, the metro services are expected to run additional trips for fans heading to the stadium.
RCB captain Virat Kohli expressed his gratitude to fans, saying, “We know everyone was excited about the parade, but the stadium celebration will be just as special. We look forward to celebrating with all of you.”
Despite the change in plans, RCB fans remain eager to witness their team bask in their well-earned glory.
