Odisha Director General of Police has announced robust security arrangements for the upcoming Rath Yatra, confirming that 15 companies of Central Armed Police Forces will be deployed alongside the state police.
The forces will include CRPF, BSF, and RAF units, ensuring layered protection during the grand festival. Coastal security responsibilities will be jointly handled by the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Police.
The DGP stated that officer‑wise responsibilities have already been finalised, reinforcing confidence that Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra will proceed peacefully and in an orderly manner.
With thousands of devotees expected to converge on Puri, the deployment underscores the administration’s commitment to maintaining law and order while safeguarding the sanctity of the festival.
