The Rajgir Sports Academy has officially received affiliation from the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF), as announced by International Hockey Federation (FIH) President Tayyab Ikram.
The announcement was made during the “Grassroots to Glory” panel discussion held at the Rajgir Sports Complex on the final rest day of the Asia Cup 2025. Ikram praised the academy’s mission and confirmed that the FIH fully endorses the affiliation.
Located in Nalanda district, the sprawling 90-acre Rajgir Sports Complex offers facilities for 22 sports, including hockey. The event also featured Hockey India General Secretary Bhola Nath Singh, former Indian women’s team captain Rani Rampal, and Bihar State Sports Authority CEO Raveendran Sankaran.
Rampal urged young athletes to make full use of the world-class infrastructure, while Raveendran highlighted Bihar’s hockey revival, noting that over 450 children participated in the recent state championship.
The affiliation marks a turning point for Bihar’s sports ecosystem, positioning Rajgir as a future hub for national and international hockey talent.
