Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi is very likely to visit Odisha in October to attend the ‘Chhatron Ki Gunj’ youth programme in Bhubaneswar, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Bhakta Charan Das informed on Tuesday.
Das said the proposal has been sent and Gandhi is expected to join the event, which will see participation from around 20,000 youths. The programme will focus on issues concerning Gen‑Z and youth aspirations.
Keeping the upcoming Panchayat elections in view, the Congress has planned a series of marathon programmes across the state. A padayatra will be launched from Nabarangapur on October 2, with participation from party workers, monitored by committees.
Das further revealed that between January and February 2027, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and the Karnataka Chief Minister will visit Odisha as part of the party’s campaign push. A major programme will be organised in Bhubaneswar in October to discuss youth‑related issues in detail.
