President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are set to inaugurate a series of major infrastructure and development projects during their visit to Odisha, marking a significant boost to the state’s healthcare, transport, irrigation and railway sectors.
Among the key projects scheduled for inauguration is the new 300-bedded District Headquarters Hospital at Boudh, aimed at enhancing healthcare services and improving access to quality medical facilities for residents of the region.
The leaders will also inaugurate 24 Atal Bus Stands and nine Automated Testing Stations located across multiple districts. These initiatives are expected to strengthen Odisha’s public transportation network, improve commuter facilities and enhance vehicle safety standards.
Major Connectivity and Irrigation Projects
Several important connectivity projects will also be dedicated to the public, including:
- Nayagarh Town Bypass on National Highway-57
- Underground Pipeline Component of the Kusumi Smart Irrigation Project
- Jakhapura–Jajpur Keonjhar Road–Baitarani Road Multi-Tracking Railway Project
- Hindol Road–Meramandali Multi-Tracking Railway Project
These projects are expected to improve transportation efficiency, support agricultural development and enhance railway capacity across Odisha.
Focus on Sports and Tribal Development
In addition to infrastructure projects, a new Sports Complex and Tribal Research Centre at Rairangpur will also be inaugurated. The facilities are aimed at promoting sports development, preserving tribal heritage and supporting research on indigenous communities.
Boost to Odisha’s Development Agenda
The projects form part of Odisha’s broader development roadmap focused on improving healthcare access, expanding transport infrastructure, strengthening railway connectivity and supporting regional growth.
The inaugurations are scheduled during the two-day Odisha visit of President Droupadi Murmu, during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join her in Mayurbhanj district for official programmes and celebrations marking the second anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha.
