President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday extended heartfelt greetings to citizens on the occasion of Raja Parba, one of Odisha’s most cherished cultural festivals.

In her message, the President conveyed special wishes to the people of Odisha and described Raja as a festival that celebrates nature, cultural heritage, and the values of harmony and renewal.

Raja Festival Reflects Harmony Between Humanity and Nature

Highlighting the deeper significance of the festival, President Murmu said Raja Parba serves as a reminder of the importance of living in balance with nature.

She noted that the monsoon festival is dedicated to honouring the Earth, motherhood, and the life-giving role of rain-bearing clouds. The celebration reflects gratitude towards nature and recognizes the interconnected relationship between people and the environment.

According to the President, the traditions associated with Raja continue to inspire respect for natural cycles and sustainable living.

Celebration of Odisha’s Rich Cultural Heritage

The President emphasized that Raja Parba is deeply rooted in Odisha’s cultural traditions and remains an important symbol of the state’s heritage.

The festival is known for its vibrant customs, including traditional swings, folk songs, festive gatherings, and the preparation of special delicacies. These traditions bring communities together and help preserve cultural values across generations.

President Murmu described Raja as a celebration that beautifully combines joy, tradition, and reverence for nature.

Message of Nation-Building and Collective Responsibility

Beyond its cultural significance, the President underlined the broader social values associated with the festival.

She expressed hope that the spirit of Raja would inspire citizens to contribute towards nation-building and collective progress while maintaining respect for cultural traditions and environmental stewardship.

The President also wished happiness, peace, and prosperity for people across Odisha and the country.
