In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Odisha government has appointed IAS officer Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke (RR-2021) as the Commissioner of Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC).
Rajeshirke, who previously served as the Sub-Collector of Balasore, also held additional charge as Executive Officer of Balasore Municipality.
The new assignment elevates Rajeshirke’s administrative role, as the position of Commissioner, Berhampur Municipal Corporation, is declared equivalent in status and responsibility to that of a Deputy Secretary to the Government in the IAS Cadre.
According to an official notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, Rajeshirke has been directed to relieve himself from his current responsibilities immediately and assume his new role without availing the joining time.
With immediate effect, Rajeshirke will assume office as the Commissioner of BeMC, taking charge of urban governance and development policies in the region. His transition from Balasore to Berhampur is anticipated to bring dynamic administrative reforms to the city.
