Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik announced on Wednesday that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) survey in rural Odisha will be completed within the next two months.
Minister Naik explained that the state government is conducting thorough surveys to identify eligible beneficiaries, ensuring that no deserving individual is overlooked. To enhance participation, public awareness campaigns are being organized in villages to educate residents about the scheme.
“The PMAY survey in rural areas is currently in progress and will wrap up in a couple of months. We are working to raise awareness through community meetings and encouraging active involvement in the survey,” Naik stated.
The Minister stressed that individuals who qualify but have been previously excluded from the scheme will now be accounted for. “We are committed to including all deserving individuals so that these important schemes reach those who require assistance,” he emphasized.
Naik acknowledged the efforts of trainers assigned by the department, who are visiting villages to promote awareness and help identify those who may have been overlooked. He also assured that the survey process will be transparent, with attending ministers reviewing PMAY reports during their village visits.
In his critique of the previous government, Naik claimed that many impoverished individuals were excluded from the PMAY housing list in favour of ineligible beneficiaries for political purposes.
The Minister pledged to engage with Union Ministers regarding the PMAY situation in Odisha to secure additional advantages for the residents of the state.
Naik reaffirmed the government’s dedication to completing the survey on schedule and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their rightful benefits under the PMAY scheme.
