Prime Minister Narendra Modi watched the Hindi movie ‘The Sabarmati Report’ at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building on Monday.
The movie, which stars Vikrant Massey, is based on the Godhra train burning incident that occurred on February 27, 2002.
Accompanied by Cabinet ministers including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, PM Modi attended the special screening of the film.
The film’s narrative centres on the tragic Godhra train event, which resulted in the death of 59 individuals, including women and children.
In ‘The Sabarmati Report’, Vikrant Massey portrays a Hindi journalist who challenges the system with his truthful reporting.
The film has received notable attention after PM Modi commended its efforts to portray the truth.
On November 17, the Prime Minister had earlier lauded the movie, stating that the truth will always emerge and that false narratives can only last for so long.
PM Modi appreciated the film for presenting the truth in a manner accessible to the general public, featuring performances by Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra.
