In a grand celebration of National Panchayati Raj Day in Madhubani, Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over Rs 13,480 crore.

These projects encompass electricity, railways, housing, healthcare, and agriculture, signifying a decade of progress for rural India.

During his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the transformative strides made over the past decade in Panchayati Raj, women’s empowerment, and rural development. Notable initiatives include the PM Awas Yojana, creation of over 4 crore permanent houses, and financial support for self-help groups under the Jeevika Didi program. He also underscored the global recognition of makhana as a superfood and pledged to bolster Bihar’s agricultural and flood mitigation efforts.

A solemn moment marked the event as Modi paid tribute to the victims of the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, reaffirming the nation’s resolve to combat terrorism. His speech resonated with themes of empowerment, infrastructure growth, and national unity, reinforcing Bihar’s pivotal role in India’s development journey.

Prime Minister handed over sanction letters to 15 lakh new beneficiaries of PMAY-Gramin and released instalments to 10 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries from across the country. He also handed over keys to some beneficiaries, marking the Grih Pravesh of 1 lakh PMAY-G and 54,000 PMAY-U houses in Bihar.
