Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to release the 19th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, transferring approximately ₹22,000 crore directly to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers.
This significant event will take place in Bhagalpur, Bihar, enhancing the income of the farming community across India.
Details of PM-KISAN Scheme: The PM-KISAN scheme, launched on February 2, 2019, is a critical government initiative to provide financial support to small and marginal farmers. Eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 per year, distributed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each, directly credited to their bank accounts. So far, the government has disbursed a total of ₹3.46 lakh crore under this scheme. With the release of the 19th instalment, the total disbursement is expected to rise to ₹3.68 lakh crore.
Mandatory eKYC for Farmers: eKYC is now compulsory for all PM-KISAN registered farmers. OTP-based eKYC can be completed on the PM-KISAN portal, while biometric-based eKYC can be done at the nearest CSC centre. This ensures the authenticity and accuracy of the beneficiaries’ information.
Registration Process for PM-KISAN: Farmers can register online to avail benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme by visiting the official website (pmkisan.gov.in). The registration process involves entering the Aadhaar number, mobile number, and bank account details, uploading the required documents, and submitting the application for verification.
How to Check Beneficiary Status: Farmers can check their beneficiary status by visiting the PM Kisan official website, navigating to the ‘Beneficiary Status’ page, entering their Aadhaar number or bank account number, and clicking ‘Get Data’ to view their status.
