Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially move into his new office at the Seva Teerth complex on Makar Sankranti, January 14, 2026.
This relocation marks the first time since Independence that the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) will shift from its historic South Block location.
The Seva Teerth complex, built at a cost of ₹1,189 crore by Larsen & Toubro, houses three major offices: Seva Teerth-1 for the PMO, Seva Teerth-2 for the Cabinet Secretariat, and Seva Teerth-3 for the National Security Council Secretariat. Designed with modern workspaces and ceremonial halls themed around “seva” (service), the complex reflects the government’s vision of efficiency and cultural resonance.
Once vacated, the South and North Blocks will be transformed into the “Yuge Yugeen Bharat Sangrahalaya,” a world-class museum developed with French collaboration. This move is part of the broader Central Vista Redevelopment Project, which also includes Kartavya Bhawan and the upcoming Executive Enclave Part 2, the Prime Minister’s new residence.
The relocation symbolises a decisive step away from colonial legacies, reinforcing Modi’s vision of modernising India’s administrative infrastructure while preserving its cultural heritage.
