Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Indian blind women’s cricket team at his residence in New Delhi after their historic T20 World Cup victory.

He congratulated the players for overcoming challenges and displaying confidence, talent, and national pride.

The Prime Minister interacted warmly with the team and appreciated their determination. He encouraged them to continue playing with the same spirit, reminding them that hard work ensures success not only on the field but also in life. He noted that the players created a unique identity for themselves, which boosted their confidence further.

Highlighting the significance of 150 years of Vande Mataram, Modi said the team’s spirit reflects unity and national pride. He also praised the musical talent of one player who sang devotional songs and linked it to her roots in Kashi.

In a lighter moment, Modi compared the team’s versatility to politics, saying that just as politicians take on different roles as ministers, legislators, or MPs, players too show all‑round skills.

The players shared their experiences of overcoming social prejudices and family hardships. One player recalled her late father’s dream of seeing her succeed and said meeting the Prime Minister fulfilled that dream.

Modi assured the team that their success inspires not only persons with disabilities but all citizens of India. He emphasised that their achievements highlight the strength and determination of India’s youth. He expressed pride that the nation is moving forward with courage and resilience.

Concluding the interaction, Modi wished the team success in future tournaments and praised their role in enhancing India’s image globally. He said their dedication and enthusiasm inspire countless people.
