Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Bhubaneswar to an overwhelming reception as the state capital buzzed with excitement ahead of the BJP-led government’s anniversary celebrations in Odisha.

Thousands of enthusiastic supporters lined the roads as Prime Minister Modi’s motorcade travelled from Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) to Janata Maidan, where the main event was being held.

Upon his arrival at the airport, the Prime Minister received a warm welcome from various dignitaries, including Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, MP Sangeeta Singh Deo, and several senior BJP leaders.

As Modi’s motorcade passed through the city, fans waved flags and chanted slogans amid tight security, highlighting the growing support for the BJP in Odisha, a state where the party recently achieved a historic mandate.

Several cultural troupes from across the state performed to celebrate the occasion, welcoming Modi in a traditional Odia style. The route featured vibrant displays of Odia folk music and dance, showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage.

Modi’s journey included stops at notable locations such as Capital Hospital Square, AG Square, Raj Bhawan Chowk, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, and Nalco Square before reaching Janata Maidan.

In a grand public gathering at Janata Maidan, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones and inaugurate key developmental projects worth approximately Rs 19,000 crore. These included the launch of new railway services and a fleet of 100 electric buses aimed at bolstering urban mobility and green infrastructure.

Among the event’s highlights are the unveiling of the Odisha Vision Document 2036, outlining an ambitious roadmap for the state’s transformation by the time Odisha celebrates 100 years of its formation. The event will also mark the launch of the “Baraputra Samman Yojana” to honour exemplary Odia citizens who’ve made significant contributions to society.

The Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Vidyalaya Booklet will also be released during the event as a tribute to the legacy of progressive education in the state.

As Bhubaneswar glittered with enthusiasm and saffron hues, PM Modi’s visit underscored not just his government’s development agenda but also a symbolic consolidation of political momentum in Odisha.
