During a second round of meetings held in Dhaka, ICC officials and BCB representatives discussed Bangladesh’s position. While the BCB reiterated its willingness to compete in the tournament, it maintained that it does not want to play its matches in India, citing security concerns.
Bangladesh proposed Sri Lanka, the tournament’s co-host, as an alternative venue. However, the ICC has declined the request, standing by the original schedule. Under the current draw, Bangladesh are placed in Group C and are scheduled to play all their matches in Mumbai and Kolkata.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly assured Bangladesh of full support and has even expressed willingness to host Bangladesh’s World Cup matches in Pakistan if Sri Lanka is unable to accommodate them.
