Bolangir: A man buying goods by giving fake notes to the shopkeeper has landed in police net in Khaprakhol area in Bolangir district.
The youth has been identified as Brahma Meher of Pipalbahal village under Lathor police station.
Police have recovered a total of Rs 6,000 fake currency notes from Brahma. The notes include five pieces of denomination of Rs 500, five Rs 200 notes and five pieces of Rs 100 denomination.
The accused bought some items from a shop in Khaprakhol town by paying the counterfeit currencies. Suspecting the authenticity of the notes, the shopkeeper called the police.
The police reached the spot and recovered fake notes having face value of Rs 6,000 from him.
He is being questioned and efforts are on to find out any involved in the racket, police said.
