On the eve of Raksha Bandhan, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu extended heartfelt greetings to citizens across the globe.
In her message, she highlighted the festival’s enduring significance as a symbol of love, trust, and unity.
“On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens living in India and abroad,” the President stated.
Raksha Bandhan, celebrated as a sacred bond between brothers and sisters, also serves as a reminder of India’s rich cultural heritage and moral values. President Murmu emphasised that the festival fosters societal harmony and strengthens the collective resolve to uphold women’s rights and dignity.
“This festival strengthens our determination to protect the rights of women and respect them,” she added.
