The Ministry of External Affairs has strongly dismissed reports emerging from the recently released Epstein files that referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2017 visit to Israel.

Officials confirmed that Modi’s trip to Israel in July 2017 was an official state visit, but rejected all other insinuations in the documents as “trashy ruminations by a convicted criminal.”

Statement by the Official Spokesperson to clarify certain reports:

We have seen reports of an email message from the so-called Epstein files that has a reference to the Prime Minister and his visit to Israel. Beyond the fact of the Prime Minister’s official visit to Israel in… pic.twitter.com/ZOZSwE1AZA

The Epstein files, disclosed by the US Justice Department, include over 3 million pages of documents, 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images. While some emails in the batch discuss Epstein’s death, multiple investigations have concluded it was suicide.

India emphasised that beyond the factual record of Modi’s Israel trip, any other references in the files should be disregarded entirely. The government’s sharp dismissal underscores its determination to distance itself from the controversy surrounding Epstein’s legacy.
