Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has received two bids in response to the global e-tender that was floated for procurement of COVID-19 vaccine doses from the open market.
The Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited had floated tender on May 15 to procure 3.8 crore vaccine doses from leading manufacturers across the globe to inoculate entire population of Odisha.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra said that two bids have been received In response to the global e-tender floated by the OSMCL for procurement of vaccines and they are under evaluation.
On May 28, the state government extended the deadline of the global tender floated for procurement of COVID-19 vaccines till 5PM of June 4. The response to the global tender was revealed after the extended deadline for submission of bids ended today.
In order to facilitate the participation of manufacturer of vaccines to be stored in supercool temperature, the storage condition was revised up to (-)20° C subject to condition that the vaccines will remain stable and maintain its potency at 2° C to 8° C for at least 12 hours.
