Odisha’s Bhadrak came alive with the ongoing District-Level Development Fair and Subhadra Shakti Traditional Food Festival 2025, held at Nehru Stadium on Tuesday. The event, marking the first anniversary of the state government, saw Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida as the chief guest.

Addressing the audience, she emphasised the unstoppable momentum of development under the Mohan government, driven by the “double engine” model of governance, promising fourfold progress for Odisha and Bhadrak.

Parida highlighted the pivotal role of women in development, equating their strength to that of Maa Subhadra. She announced ambitious plans to empower women through the Subhadra Yojana, aiming to create “Lakhpati Didis” (millionaire sisters) in every village. The government’s vision includes constructing stadiums in every block, improving roads, providing drinking water, and developing cremation grounds. Additionally, winners of the state-level traditional food festival will receive business opportunities to further their ventures.

A significant announcement was the transformation of Bhadrak’s Shakti Peeths into a tourism-driven Shakti Corridor, boosting cultural and economic growth. The event, chaired by the Bhadrak District Collector, was attended by MP Abhimanyu Sethi and MLA Sitansu Sekhar Mahapatra, reinforcing the collective commitment to a developed Odisha.

The fair showcased the state’s achievements over the past year, with stalls highlighting government schemes and local culinary traditions, drawing enthusiastic crowds. Parida’s address underscored the government’s dedication to inclusive growth, ensuring no force can halt Odisha’s progress.
