Officers of the Odisha Vigilance Department recovered and seized cash amounting to Rs 5,15,200 during simultaneous raids on the residential premises of Bandita Dash, Assistant Engineer (AE) at Badachana Block in Jajpur district.
The search, conducted from a Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle, took place at Smt. Dash’s residence located near Jenamani Mandap in Jagatpur, Cuttack.
This development follows the arrest of Smt. Dash and her close private associate, Sri Sethy. Both individuals were caught red-handed by Odisha Vigilance officers while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 35,000 from a local executant to clear pending official bills.
Following the initial trap operation, Vigilance teams expanded their probe into potential ill-gotten wealth, leading to the discovery and seizure of additional cash at her Jagatpur house.
Vigilance officials confirmed that searches are currently ongoing across multiple locations linked to the officer. A detailed report regarding further asset discoveries and legal proceedings is expected to follow as the investigation progresses.
