The Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance today conducted a raid on an illegal sawmill running without a valid license at Kendrapati, PS-Kakatpur, Dist-Puri.
During the raid, officials detected and seized sawmill accessories along with valuable timber worth Rs. 7 Lakhs.
This swift action aims to curb unauthorised deforestation and illegal timber trade, which pose severe threats to the region’s rich forest ecosystem. Authorities have launched further investigations to track down individuals involved in the operation and ensure compliance with forest conservation laws.
