In a gesture blending administrative duty with spiritual reverence, Odisha’s newly appointed Chief Secretary, Anu Garg, visited the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri today to seek blessings from Mahaprabhu (Lord Jagannath).
This marks one of her first public appearances following the official notification of her appointment, just ahead of the New Year 2026.
Upon her arrival in the holy city, Garg was warmly welcomed by officials from the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the Puri district administration. She proceeded directly to the Srimandir, where she offered prayers and had darshan of Lord Jagannath.
Sources indicate that after paying homage to Mahaprabhu, Garg also visited the shrines of Maa Bimala and other parshva devatas (side deities) within the temple complex, immersing herself in the sacred rituals.
The visit was attended by key district officials, including Puri District Collector Jyoti Prakash Parida, Superintendent of Police (SP) Prateek Singh, and several other administrative personnel.
As Odisha gears up for 2026, her leadership is expected to focus on efficient administration and development projects.
