Odisha Vigilance has arrested Sri Rama Chandra Satpathy, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Athamallick Block, Angul, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
Following an extensive raid, authorities uncovered large-scale wealth accumulation, including one double-storeyed building, 22 high-value plots, gold ornaments weighing approximately 350 grams, over ₹1.16 crore in bank deposits, and cash worth ₹23.95 lakh recovered from his son-in-law’s residence.
Vigilance officials initiated Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 10/2025, acting on evidence that pointed to assets far exceeding Satpathy’s known income sources. The properties and monetary holdings are being scrutinised for potential undervaluation. Further investigation is expected to reveal more hidden assets.
Satpathy, who has served in various government engineering roles since 1989, was promoted to Assistant Executive Engineer in 2022 and has been stationed in Athamallick ever since. Authorities are examining his tenure to trace the sources of these disproportionate assets.
Odisha Vigilance has intensified its efforts to crack down on corruption, signalling stringent action against government officials found guilty of financial irregularities.
Further details will be revealed as the investigation progresses.
