Odisha e-challan payment

The State Transport Authority (STA) has directed all Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) in Odisha to accept cash payments for e-challans issued against traffic rule violations.

The decision comes after repeated complaints from citizens facing OTP issues during online transactions and difficulties in areas with poor internet connectivity.

E-challan payments can be made through the Transport Department’s mParivahan application and at https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/. The offline option has now been introduced to ensure wider accessibility and convenience.

STA has advised citizens to remain alert against fraudsters and cyber hackers. Payments should only be made through the official Transport Department website, mobile app, or directly at RTO offices.

Under the new system, designated officers at RTOs will handle cash transactions for active pending e-challans. Vehicle owners or violators will receive official receipts after payment, and records will be updated online. All collected amounts will be deposited into the government treasury on the next working day.
